AlUla is 10-hour drive from Riyadh,
7 hour drive from Jeddah,
3 hours 20 minute drive from Medina
and just over 3 hours drive from Tabuk.

Marvel at Hegra ( Mada'in Saleh)

Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site
Unlike most UNESCO world heritage sites this was a hidden treasure until recent decades and has only been accessible to tourists since 2020.
Hegra offers a rare chance to come face-to-face with history. An archaeological wonderland, this  city is famous for its preserved Nabataean tombs dating back to the first century with ornate facades carved in  rock formations. They call Hegra an outdoor museum, This heritage site has countless stories to uncover.

See a sunset behind the Elephant Rock

There is something magical about a sunset in a desert. Nowhere more beautiful than in AlUla. This 50-metre-high monolith, is set against a stunning landscape of golden sands, studded with rocky outcrops. It was carved by millions of years of wind and water erosion.
Looking at it from afar, this rocks seems like an elephant with a ground-bound trunk.
This Elephant Rock was shaped by natural forces. The trunk and body of this red sandstone beast were shaped through water and wind erosion that was caused over millions of years.
The beauty of this mighty elephant increases at nightfall where it becomes more lifelike in the warm lights that have been installed at the site. Visiting the rock at night is advantageous to avoid the hot weather during the day.

Visit Maraya, the diamond in the desert
Maraya is a stunning piece of art set in the desert canyon of Ashar Valley. Designed to blend into the surrounding landscape, it rises from the sand like a mirage.
The state-of-the-art structure is covered in 9,740 mirrored panels reflecting AlUla's beauty, making it the largest mirrored building in the world, according to Guinness World Records.
While the building stands alone as art itself, it was also designed as a fully functioning multi-purpose venue.It welcomes all types of events and have also a restaurant.

Wind through the Old Town
One of AlUla’s biggest charms is the incredible effort that has gone into preserving its heritage. Nowhere more so than in the Old Town, a labyrinth of nearly 900 mud-brick houses, 400 shops and five town squares.
Step back in time to the crossroad of civilisations that lived here from around the 12th century until the 1980s, when the last residents moved. It was once a bustling town on the pilgrimage route from Damascus to Makkah and still contains some of the original mud and stone buildings that would have hosted markets selling incense and spices.
After winding through these storied streets, visit one of its restaurants, where you can try delicious traditional dishes.

Visit the Oasis Heritage Trail and see natural wonders
In the heat of the desert, escape into the cooling shade of palm trees. After exploring the enigmatic  the different landscapes, you’ll find yourself craving a burst of greenery. Hit the oasis trail, a peaceful and easy walk into the epicentre of flora and fauna that has provided sustenance, water and life to AlUla’s inhabitants for thousands of years.
As you wander along the path under the shadow of palm leaves, you’ll be surrounded by fruits and herbs and breathe in the sweet smell of dates and citrus groves. The route then takes you up to the Alfath mountain for breathtaking views of millions of palm trees below you.
